We are all raised knowing that in main stream America, girl meets boy, they get married and have children. They work to support and love their children. For Lesbians and Gay men it's a matter of finding the right woman or the right man to share your life with. For a Trans-Gender person finding that special someone can be difficult at best and impossible for most. Most TG's are not really accepted on either side of the fence. Straight people see Trans-Sexual women as gay men that wear a dress so they can be with a man. For some this may be true but for many TS's it's not the case. Gender identity and sexual preferance are two separate things and one has nothing to do with the other. Gender is who you are, sexuality is who you are attracted to. My gender identity is female and my sexual preferance is also female so what does that make me? Where do I fit in this gay and straight world we live in? I have alway been attracted to girls, I have never been attracted to men so how do I find a relationship? For the Male To Female TS's that like men, it may be easier fo find a man that will be interested in having a relationship with you but some men will think that being with a TS woman (post-op or pre-op)* will make them gay. Unfortunately, many of them deal with this fear by physically hurting the TS woman. If your a MTF TS that identifies as a lesbian your prospects for a loving relationship are virtually non- existant. If your a pre-op transsexual then your options are limited even more. Straight women don't want their partner to have breasts and lesbian women don't want their partner to have male plumbing. Straight women want to find a man and lesbian women want to find a GG (genetic girl) woman. *(Pre-op before surgery-Post-op after surgery)Lesbian and Straight women may see a MTF TS as women for friendship but not someone to build an intimate relationship with. For a bisexual woman a pre-op TS can be the best of both worlds. There are a few women that accept and love a TS woman but they are very rare in this world in which we live. So most TS will spend their life alone and lonely, never having the chance for a loving relationship. Being a TS man or woman is not an easy life to live and the price we pay for being who we are is higher than most people realize.
