Its been awhile

March 25th, 2010 1:54 pm MDT

Its been awhile since I updated my profile, or wrote anything that is happening in my life.  As some people may know, I am seeing a gender counselor.  He has already reccomended that I stat HRT, get my name change, and has wrote a letter for the DMV to put the F on my license.

I was worried about my name change, as I have not gotten any information about a court date for it, for a  couple months.  Finally I had court and I had gotten my name changed legally on March 12th, which I then applied for my new social security security, changed my name and gender with my health insurance, so fourth and so fourth.  I am just happy that things were starting to go for the best.

I recently had foot surgery.  I used to curl my toes up as a baby, and they are somewhat deformed, and uncomfortable when I wear any heels or womens shoes, or even any type of pantyhose.  Both my feet need surgery.  I just had my left one worked on, and next month I will get my right foot looked at.  It is somewhat uncomfortable walking in crutches right now.  It is awkward to hold or carry anything while walking, including my purse.  Luckily, I have a friend, Meghan, who is helping me out tremendously, as well as my boyfriend, Mike.

Despite my foot, I decided to go and get my license,  I got it under my new name, as well with it stating that I am female.  It was a challenge, since my licensed expired in 2008 and it was from out of state, I had to have a driving history, mailed to me.  I had one that was from December 2009, but they would not accept anything more the 30 days old (stupid RMV)...  So on my second trip, and down another 15 dollars, I had to take the written test.  GAH!!!!  I am not good with statistics or anything like that, so of course I got nervous...  Luckily it was just questions like what does a stop sign mean, and easy questions like that.  I think I got 1 out of 25 questions wrong.  So I did get my temp license, and should have my official license mailed to me within a week or so....  Yay I am happy.

I was also recently prescribed, Spironolacatone- 50 mg pill 2 times a day.  My PCP told me that she will prescribe me some estradiol once I kick my smoking habit, and after my foot surgery.  I am kind of anxious to start on estradiol, but at the same time, I dont think I can quit smoking just right now.  With a lot happening in my life, I somewhat need the cigarettes to help me relax and what not...  The Spiro has caused me to look after my appearance a little more, I hate the feel and sight of any and all body hair that I see.  Before I started, I would somewhat just let it go until I shave again...  Now I shave right away.

Well I guess that is all that is going on with my life right now...

Gender Therapy

December 12th, 2009 2:30 pm MST

Well I have gone to 3 sessions of counseling so far.  Everything is going fine with that.  I have been told that he is going to reccomend me for hormone replacement therapy, as soon as I get the results of my cardiologist.  He has also reccomended that I get a legal name change along with filling out a form to take to the DMV, allowing me to have female under my license.  Yes in Mass you do do not to have undergone SRS.  I do not have any plans for any surgeries as of today, besides possibly a tract shave.  That might change in the future.

Going to gender therapy

November 4th, 2009 2:01 pm MST

I have recently been appointed a Gender Therapist.  I will be going to my first session on November 12th.  The following week I will have my 40 min physical and bloodwork done.  This is to speed up the process of getting approved hormones, I hope everything works out for me.
