The  Lostgirl(s)

 

I started this group in about 1991 with a few of my friends , we would met in a bar on market st in SF and have a few drinks , chat and watch the shows in the back room , on occasion a few of us would get up in lip sync (but that really wasn't our thing) , as the group grew a few said to me lets go other place and dance , party , and live in the real world . well that was about all it took and for me having always vampirism in nature and with the recent release of the lost boys movie filmed quite close to my home , I said something to the effect of "OK , lets go get LOST" 

 

Over time the group grew to as many as 30 or 40 regulars and we were know all over SF , there are still clubs in SF that if you say your a lostgirl you get in free , we even had one club that did special events for us (many thanX to gregg Taylor and the crew of PRODUCT) and Jorge From Bondage A Go Go were on Wednesday night many of the girls could be found handcuffed to the bar drinking free .

 

the idea was simple friendship , and fun , live your life as you want and do not be afraid to stand proud , both those who pass and those who don't  . I get comments all the time about how good I look and that's all good , and yes maybe I pass (until I open my mouth) sometimes , but I don't care I am what I am and i'm damm proud !

 

being transgender is a gift , it is something very few get and gives us a unique perspective on life , I too spent a lot of years running from who I was and when I finally admitted to myself I became a happier , more complete , less insane person , my goal is to see that everyone feels this way and is afforded the chance to live there own life as they wish
