"A Terrific Day, but short..."

Another Great Day

November 2nd, 2009 5:41 pm MST

Took a vacation day today, dropped son off at school, came home and told my SO that I was dressing today - read my previous journal entry - she stayed in the bedroom again, only comment was how much I was spending ??? lol, my recent purchases were nail hardener, and temp color remover.  My hair is longer now that the pics I have posted here. I had used a temp color Saturday morning, so my grey was gone.  Started first on my hair - curlers, what a concept!  Got under the dryer (bonnet), and started my nails.  Several goofs as I had not done this since Labor Day.

Got my makeup on, got the curlers out, wow, liked the hair. Put on a tee, hoodie, capris, low heel open toe nice sandals, and made for the car (who wants to just sit around).

A friend of mine who does my threading and has taught me makeup tips is in the process of opening her own salon.  I called to see if she was in (she was ) and asked if I could come by.  She agreed, as she has never seen me dressed, only pics.  I got there about noon.  I think I must have done a good job as she appeared to be genuinely astonished at my appearance.  She said I could easily pass, and then critiqued the makeup ( only a couple of minor flaws ).  She commented on my clothes, said I had picked well, would totally blend in with all the other women out and about.

My self confidence has gone sky high. Now to work on my voice.  Think the light at the end of the tunnel is in sight and is not an oncoming train.

I know that for some of you, this seems a little bland, as you have been out and about for years, but some of us have dealt with fears and insecurities for a while.  I hope thru this I can give others encouragment to take the plunge and step out.

For all my sisters here in So Calif, this salon is very TG friendly and I highly recommend it.  Threading is awesome and beats waxing the eyebrows or plucking.  They have a $3000 pedicure chair that I highly recommend, nice little jacuzzi tub for your feet.  Email me if you want to know address/phone number.

With higher confidence in myself as an emerging woman,

Kathryn
