As I turn 39 and move towards 40 what have I learned?
March 22nd, 2008 3:07 am MDT
First and foremost thank you for your kind emails and comments for my birthday. Although I’d love to thank everyone personally that’d be virtually impossible so this is the best way to do it me thinks.
I turn 39 on March 22nd and I’d like to discuss some things that I believed I’ve learned over the last 39 years of my life.
I’ve learned that no matter how much you think you know, you’ll never know everything and thank God for that. Life is truly a school and we are it’s students. We must embrace every day with a fresh outlook and take in as much as possible. It’s a gift we’ve been given and what a waste it would be if we didn’t try to get as much out of it as we can.
I’ve learned that you can’t like everyone, and not everyone can like you. I think that you can just try to be the best person you can, and hope that you’ll earn the respect of others around you.
I’ve definitely learned that love, no matter what shape or form it comes in is a gift that is given to you so don’t mess it up.
I’ve learned to be comfortable in my own skin. You have to be exactly who you are no matter what. Some people won’t understand, but those are the people you will never be friends with.
I’ve learned some people are assholes no matter what you do lol
I’ve learned to accept all of my faults and live with them. You have to own yourself as a person and not have regrets in life.
But the most important thing I’ve learned is that friends and family are the glue that binds you together as a person. They are the ones who will stick with you through the good and the bad. They are the ones that accept you completely as a person, no matter how strange they think you are lol.
So I look forward to my last year in my 30’s and hope that my 40’s bring me much more enlightenment. Sure getting older sucks, but I don’t think I’d trade it in for all of the experiences I’ve had.
My lines are a road map of my life.
I wish you much peace and love
xoxo
Meg

Exellent job Megan, this is so true. Dont worry so much about getting older. Women are like a great bottle of wine they get better and better with age just as your have. Stay grounded and just as wonderful as you are.
Good luck with your book too.
