Ft Lauderdale Vigil for murdered teenager

A memorial service will be held Thursday for Simmie Williams Jr. on the same corner of the Sistrunk neighborhood where the 17-year-old was gunned down last week.The event is to take place at 4:30 p.m. on the 1000 block of Sistrunk Boulevard. A town hall meeting focusing on hate crimes in Florida is scheduled for after the service at 6:30 p.m. at the Gay & Lesbian Community Center of South Florida at 1717 N. Andrews Ave.Equality Florida and the Transgender Equality Rights Initiatives (TERI), two statewide advocacy groups, are sponsoring the event.Police say Williams was attacked Friday by two young men who might live in the neighborhood.Williams was wearing women's clothing when he was shot, authorities say.The death is being investigated as a possible hate crime while detectives try to determine whether Williams was targeted because of his sexual orientation.

Fortunately is not whit the same frecuency but.... I hope we can continue win more acceptance, some times the price es so hight but is the price that we have to pay for to be different.
