Feels sooooooo good to be back .....

July 19th, 2006 4:47 pm MDT

Hello Dear Friends:One of the few things worse than being away from my favorite (URNA) site was being away from family and friends.Over the past several more months I have been involved in a few touchy situations - to say the least. As many of my friends know, I have been volunteering my time and emergency medical services to the volunteer effort for those who were afflicted by Hurricane Katrina and its ensuing destruction. Additionally, I have been involved validating and discussing (with the authorities), my extensive written report on my experiences and suggestions since the day Hurricane Katrina disrupted the southern States. I named names and pointed fingers at the ineptness of the actions of those in governmental (Municipal and State) support positions who should have been more proactive and responsive to the Hurricane victims. And I made suggestions to minimize the devastation of a subsequent Catagory 3 hurricane.Equally as important, I've been challenged with the advances (e-mails initially) of a man (on another 'site') who apparently has interests in T-girls and I was probably one of a few 'girls' that he focused in on. As with anyone taking time to e-mail me, I responded to all of his e-mails - UNTIL - he left his PC on one day and his wife (unknowing of his interest in T-girls) learned of these interests by reading his e-mails on his PC. His wife sent me a few e-mails that were initially sad but quickly tuirned nasty and threatening.  She actually contacted her Minister and an Attorney and their e-mails were added to the threats and my concern. So you can see that I've been cautious to my whereabouts, use of the Intenret,  and have not visited my favorite 'sites'. With this said, I did not want to bring unnecessary attention to any of my favorite 'sites' like URNA, nor my friends. Fortunately, everything seems to be 'cooled down' now and back to normalcy. That is, just in time for football season where I will be doing a lot of coaching work with my specialized coaching techniques at the College Div. 1 and Div. 1-AA levels. I keep wondering, in the back of my mind, to what would the other coaches and players think if they knew of my "Paula side".I hope everyone is well and moving forward at a tolerable pace.Live, Love, Laugh, Learn and Dance as much as you can - Life is too short !Paula (a.k.a. Back again from volunteering in Gulf States

April 1st, 2006 10:02 am MST

4-1-06 - Just a quick status note that I was involved with the organization of over 400 University Students who, in lieu of enjoying a Spring Break this year, volunteered to join me and others for our on-going cleanup and medical services to the Huirricane Katrina victims. This time, and fortunately, we did not have the problem with alligators, water moccasins and mold. The need of these people seems never-ending, and the beginning of the 2006 Hurricane season is about 60 days away and *yes,* we are concerned.  The report that I submitted to the Federal Government and State Governments from my previous trips, named names and named agencies, that I felt were 'dragging their feet' of support. I may be 'called on the carpet for the content of my report but if this is the challenge that's needed to get things done - then so be it !
