The long road to here.....
March 23rd, 2008 4:20 pm MDT
About 9 years ago, I met a lovely transgendered lady in San Fransisco. We became good friends, and she was kind enough to show me around the city, and to introduce me to her friends. It was wonderful. I felt at home and accepted right away. I began helping the girls with thier makeup, hair, fashion, and so on.... just as a friend, and for free. It was a blast. I had so much fun! And the girls were always so appreciateive of my help. It made me feel so good to be able to help these wonderful women look as girly as they felt inside. :) Over time, while keeping a regular job, I began to help more girls. Eventually, I was told I should really be charging for my services. Hmmmm.....I thought....I would love to do this for a career!! :) So, I sat down with some girls and we did reseach to find out what I should charge, and what services girls really wanted and needed. I started out just doing this part time, then slowly have turned it into my full time career. I have had two different studios, one in NW, and one in SE Portland, before moving into this new place in Tigard. The first studio didn't work out because I didn't feel safe bringing my girls in and out at late hours. Not the best location. The second place was nicer, but didn't offer any photo opportunities. This new place is fabulous! It is huge and has a lovely backyard with tons of great photo opportunities inside and out!! :) And now that we have remodeled the massive garage, we can offer an even better dress up space, with even more photo ops., and extended open hours! There will also be lots of new activities on the calendar in April, so keep an eye out!! :) I just want everyone to know how much I admire you for the strength it takes to be exactly who you are, no matter what anyone else has to say about it! I am so proud of all my girls, and all people everywhere who refuse not to be themselves!! Bravo!!
