My personal support for TGs in general hereby shrinks by this much:
Section A: Definitions
A.1. "Friend" (in quotes) shall be defined as those who appear in lists of internet sites who are so listed due to clicking on invitations to be a "friend," "buddy," or any other term indicating an alliance or aquaintance devoid of any actual contact via internet chat, instant messenger, or real life.
A.2. Friend (unquoted( shall be defined as a person who, in the past, has had actual contact via internet chat, instant messenger, or real life, and shall be further defined as someone who does not send "stupid thoughtless crap" to my real email address.
A.3. "Stupid thoughtless crap" (quoted or unquoted, AKA spam) shall be defined as email which renders my email account useless by:
A.3.a. being greater than 100 kilobytes in size, the bulk of which in unoriginal and copied.
A.3.b. pleading to be forwarded to multiple others.
A.3.c. transmiting my email address openly to everyone receiving such email.
A.3.d.transmitting rumors that are well-known to be false on www.snopes.com
A.3.e.violate RFC 1855.
A.3.f. pummeling me with invitations to join other sites.
Section B. Background.
B.1. Stupid useless crap, as defined in sections A.3.a through A.3.f have turned one personal email account after another into respositories of, at best, annoynances and at worst, incapacitated of its intended communication utility.
B.2.. Anecdotal data suggests that people who request to be "friends" with no previous contact have a higher association with resulting stupid thoughtless crap than do real friends.
B.3. Blocking such "a**holes" (see Section D) does not cure problems such as those recited in A.3.b, A.3.c and A.3.f, all of which result in the conditions set forth in B.1 by third parties.
Section C. Action Item
Be it therefore resolved that "friend" requests will be denied from those who would make a "friend" request their initial contact. Be it further resolved that initial communication which would expose my email address to future stupid useless crap will not be responded to.
Section D. Sanctions
Violators will be appended to the registry of the braindead and inconsiderate, and risk being referred to in terms ranging from impolite to obscene.
Section E. Effective date
This emergency statement is effective immediately.

Re: With Regina Marie April 10th, 2008 9:02 am MDT You've obviously thought this through quite extensively, and put alot of effort into developing this policy, so I'm forced to conclude that it's OK for me to continue sending "stupid thoughtless crap" to you on YIM.
Re: With Regina Marie April 10th, 2008 9:05 am MDT I am NOT on this users friend list. If I want to see their "Friends Only" posts, they need to send me a Friend Request.
Re: With Andrea April 10th, 2008 10:15 am MDT You use yer mouth purdier then a $ 20 whore.
Imaginary friends Joanna April 10th, 2008 1:27 pm MDT All my imaginary friends are in my head and we talk directly with each other so I have no e-mail problem with them. !_!_!_! Perhaps what most people want from these friend lists is the reassurance of being an accepted member of the herd or pack. Calling this need for reassurance "friendship" is abusing the word.
