HAVE YA EVER NOTICED?

I am amazed at the friends I have made and what our friendships have settled into.The expectations that are put before true friendship. If a friend steps out of our chosen role for them they become too much and we back away. If we don't live up to their expectations, they back away. I suppose it is easier to do that with friends than family so, maybe we do to our friends what we wish we could do to our families. I say let's not do either. Let's just be friends with the only string attaching us, love. Let our friends and family be angry, happy, busy, sad, distant, lost, loving,trans, silly, sulky, THEMSELVES. . Let's all just be at peace with ourselves and therefore with others. Namaste

My feeling is its a natural defensive mechanism. We can only handle so much stress in our lives and if a friends steps out of OUR chosen role for them, they become too much, we cope by the basest of measures. To overcome this we need to seek out other coping mechanisms, to add more tools to our tool belt. Heck, Batman wouldn't be much of a Superhero if he only had one gizmo in his Utility belt!
