I Had A Diamond Once

 I had a diamond once
that shimmered brilliantly love's opulent light
fired from a passionate bosom's burning flame
fervent dedication of a heart's proclamation
a kind voice contained within a sparkling symbol
the maginficence of one's gentle love unashamed

I was adorned with a diamond once
most tender token glimmering of deepest affection
a loyal's benevolence sophisticating my beauty,  poise, and stance
bespangled of devotion's incandescent emblem
decadently glowing embers with  the cockles of a heart
virtue from a faithful's fondness dressing me an elegance
I was enrichened by a diamond once
but I was foolishly too busy playing with stones
awakened with profound sorrow one day to find my treasure gone
heavy regrets now pervade me of  my divestiture
longing grievously a rich quintessence unheeded
dishonored bond offerings that within a badge had shone
I carelessly took for granted a diamond once
a radiant jewel born of stars remorsefully devalued
precious blaring derived of more than fire, brimstone, and ice
alone unembellished of a rare cavalier's kindle
now unconsolable heartache stinging former lustrous eyes
drenched ever duller from tears of my soul's yearning cries

I had a diamond once
