open letter on Obama / Hillary

March 10th, 2008 5:38 am MDT

It was truly a pity to see Samantha Power cut loose from the campaing for referred to Hillary as a "monster". By all accounts she is a serious and award -winning Harvard academician. That such an estimable person was driven to utter such a dramatic opinion speaks volumes.
Despite her retraction under pressure, her only offense was speaking her true feelings in a non-diplomatic way. An opinion shared by this writer, and who knows how many other Democrats?
What makes Hillary particularly egregious is that she smiles as she sticks the knife in and then twists it. Obama may be forced to "go negative". By contrast, Hillary seems truly to enjoy it.
Only with Obama on the ticket can we avoid the depressing choice between a monstrous personality and a candidate who advocates monstrous policies.
We need a new choice and a new sense of opitmism in this country. We need Obama.

Re: open letter on Obama / Hillary Cheryl Jackson March 10th, 2008 3:16 pm MDT I hear ya and if it comes to that I will vote for Hillary, but she is doing everything to ruin the chances for Obama to win the general. It is win or ruin, and that is exactly what she is a egomaniacal monster. We have a much better choice than her and have to work for it.

I agree Cheryl, people seem to have a very short memories though, especialy when it comes to our elected officials. It really makes no sense unless we look at how they are elected, people of power elect our leaders. Which is another plus from Obama. I have no dilusions of Obama, we know he has help from the powerful also, they seem to cover their bases, but I still trust Barak and really believe that he wants to make changes for the better. I have seen both of them speak, when Hilliary speaks, I do not feel she believes what she is saying herself, how can I believe her?
