Liberals unite!!! (VI)

August 31st, 2008 8:58 am MDT

Wow. I have to completely rethink how I'm going to vote this year. I mean, I guess I don't have to peruse the Constitutionalist Candidate, or the Libertarian Candidate, or Mickey Mouse for that matter. I can go ahead and put my faith in the Republican Candidate, and that just make shit so much simpler.

Gov. Sarah Palin will be the first female on a winning ticket, and that should excite the hell out of 90% of the members here! She's the real deal if you want to talk politics. The move McCain made by nominating her completely took the wind out of the Hussain-Biden ticket.

I'll leave it at that, for now.

Liberals unite!!! (VI)

August 26th, 2008 9:34 am MDT

From: 'David LaBonte'
My wife, Rosemary, wrote a wonderful letter to the editor of the OC Register which, of course, was not printed. So, I decided to 'print' it myself by sending it out on the Internet. Pass it along if you feel so inclined. Written in response to a series of letters to the editor in the Orange County Register

Dear Editor:
So many letter writers have based their arguments on how this land is made up of immigrants. Ernie Lujan for one, suggests we should tear down the Statue of Liberty because the people now in question aren't being treated the same as those who passed through Ellis Island and other ports of entry

Maybe we should turn to our history books and point out to people like Mr. Lujan why today's American is not willing to accept this new kind of immigrant any longer. Back in 1900 when there was a rush from all areas of Europe to come to the United States, people had to get off a ship and stand in a long line in New York and be documented.  Some would even get down on their hands and knees and kiss the ground. They made a pledge to uphold the laws and support their new country in good and bad times. They made learning English a primary rule in their new American households and some even changed their names to blend in with their new home.

They had waved good bye to their birth place to give their children a new life and did everything in their power to help their children assimilate into one culture. Nothing was handed to them. No free lunches, no welfare, no labor laws to protect them. All they had were the skills and craftsmanship they had brought with them to trade for a future of prosperity.

Most of their children came of age when World War II broke out. My father fought along side men whose parents had come straight over from Germany , Italy , France and Japan . None of these 1st generation Americans ever gave any thought about what country their parents had come from. They were Americans fighting Hitler, Mussolini and the Emperor of Japan . They were defending the United States of America as one people.

When we liberated France , no one in those villages was looking for the French-American or the German American or the Irish American. The people of France saw only Americans. And we carried one flag that represented one country. Not one of those immigrant sons would have thought about picking up another country's flag and waving it to represent who they were. It would have been a disgrace to their parents who had sacrificed so much to be here. These immigrants truly knew what it meant to be an American. They stirred the melting pot into one red, white and blue bowl.

And here we are in 2008 with a new kind of immigrant who wants the same rights and privileges. Only they want to achieve it by playing with a different set of rules, one that includes the entitlement card and a guarantee of being faithful to their mother country. I'm sorry, that's not what being an American is all about. I believe that the immigrants who landed on Ellis Island in the early 1900's deserve better than that for all the toil, hard work and sacrifice in raising future generations to create a land that has become a beacon for those legally searching for a better life I think they would be appalled that they are being used as an example by those waving foreign country flags.

And for that suggestion about taking down the Statue of Liberty , it happens to mean a lot to the citizens who are voting on the immigration bill. I wouldn't start talking about dismantling the United States just yet.

(signed) Rosemary LaBonte

I sincerely hope this letter gets read by millions of people all across the nation!!

Just something to think about as Labor Day nears.

Liberals unite!!! (VI)

July 24th, 2008 10:43 am MDT

The other day I was home in the afternoon with nothing much to do, so I turned on the idiot box. It was already on the History Channel, and showing (of all things 'historical')...Batman. I thought I heard the guy who Plays the Joker and killed himself awhile back was also one of the gay sheep herders in "Bareback Mounting", and the guy who played Batman recently beat the shit out of his Mom, and sister I might get a little gossip. Such was not the case! What this two hour block was concentrated on was the history of Batman, and follows him through the years. This show treated Batman as if he were real, and the interviews with some of the folks behind not only the movie version, but the comic book version were interviewed. And THEY all acted like Batman was a living person.

A little history on how Bruce Wayne became Batman was helpful. When he was a child he fell into a well, or went into a cave, or some old house and was confronted by a multitude of Bats. It scared him prettly badly. When his folks took him to the theater at a later date, the frantic dancing on stage brought back those memories of the bats, and Bruce asked if they could go home. His parents gave in to his request, but on the way out of the theater both his folks were robbed at gunpoint, and subsequently murdered right before young B Wayne's eyes. He blamed himself for their deaths, as any young child may understandable do in that situation. Through the years, Bruce tought himself to be a moral, disciplined man whose primary goal in life was to avenge his parents deaths by fighting crime at every opportunity. He forced himself to overcome his fear of bats, and donned a disguise so as to remain anonymous in his vigilante heroics. He wasn't after noteriety, he simply wanted to assist those less fortunate than himself. He knew the police force had been beleaguered by all the nonsensical laws passed by the secular progressive electoate, so there was really very little an honest police officer could do to fight crime. But as Batman, there was ALOT Bruce Wayne could do!

Batman/Bruce Wayne always knew the right thing to do. He never intentionally killed any of the crooks he caught, but he knew that sometimes that was what happened. He left the sentencing to the jurys, but he did what no cop could under their strict guidlines. All this got me to thinking. "Hey", I said to myself "Batman's a conservative!" And I'm right. Look at his childhood. He saw his parents murdered, yet dealt with it himself. He didn't seek out some high payed psycologist/headshrinker to help him"explore his feelings". "I need someone to hear MY feelings" was never uttered by Bruce. He was wealthy by Gotham City standards, but he took care of his problems his way. He didn't take the yuppy, liberal, touchy-feely route.

He also got the job done while nabbing a crook. He wasn't interested in not offending the criminals "personal space", or personal rights even! He understood that if you harmed another, then you deserve to be punished. Batman never waited around for someone to thank him, or give him a medal (this is VERY conservative-like). He just did what needed to be done. He chose to act instead of talking about it. Yes, I'm positive Batman/Bruce Wayne would have voted for GW Bush. I don't know about McCain, but I'm absolutely sure he wouldn't vote for B hussain Obama. I think he'd probably vote for the Libertairian candidate. Maybe the Constitutional party guy.

We could all learn some very valuable lessons from Batman. I think he asked himself, in every situation: "What would Christ do?"

July 23rd, 2008 10:22 am MDT

I was home the other day with nothing planned, so I turned on the idiot box. Usually it ain't on unless I'm watching a ballgame, the news, or the History channel. On this day, I started at the History channel. There was a two hour block of stuff about, of all things "historical"...Batman. So I pured a Scotch, and sat down to see what this was all about. I figuerd there'd at least be something about how the Batman characters turned evil, what with the guy who played Batman beating the shit out of his mom, and sister. Also the Joker fella recently killed himself. I think he was one of the gay sheep herders in that "Bareback Mounting" movie, wasn't he? Turns out I was wrong concerning the content! (Man, that was a first!)

It was mostly about the history of Batman. From his childhood, through the complexities involved with the pshycological aspect of leading a life as an adult Bruce Wayne, while simultaneously being the crime fighting Batman. It was actually a pretty interesting two hours. When it was over, I got to thinking. And I came to the conclusion that Bruce Wayne/Batman was almost definately a Republican. If not a Republican per se, then certainly a conservative. He might not even vote for John McCain, but I'll bet he would vote for the Constitutionalist Candidate. Yes, absolutely Batman is a conservative. Allow me to explain.

When a young Bruce Wayne went to the theater with his folks, he was terribly frightened by the actions on the stage that reminded him of bats. Earlier young Bruce had fallen into a well, or a pit of some sort, and encountered bats. They scared him witless, and the frantic dancing brought back those awful memories. He asked his parents to leave, they agreed, and were subsequently murdered outside the complex. Bruce witnessed this, and blamed himself for their deaths. This is a perfectly understandable reaction in a young mind. From that point on, Bruce Wayne devoted his life to fighting crime at every opportunity. He realized that law enforement had been corrupted Gotham City, and police were restricted by all the bureaucratic bullshit laws enacted at tax payer expense, which were virtually ignored by police, and criminals alike. He wouldn't intentionally kill a bad guy when he caught them, but he would torture them a bit on occasion. He allowed law enforcment to decide the jail sentence, or the courts to choose the final prison/death penalty outcome.

First off, when Bruce saw his parents slain he took care of those emotions himself in the best way he could (like a CONSERVATIVE would do). He didn't go the liberal route searching out the most prolific shrink so he could reveal his inner-most fears. He never said "I need a hug". He understood that actions spoke louder than words. Possibly in some way, he felt that by becomming Batman and doing what the police were unable, or unwilling to do, he could ease the pain associated with the death of his parents. He didn't need Zoloft for that.

Secondly, he tried to live by the law of the land. By allowing the courts to decide the fate of each evil doer he nabbed, Bruce Wayne/Batman possibly tried emulating what Jesus would do. To live by a high moral code, as Batman does, is the most any of us can hope for. I know that seems impossible to some, but I truely feel that all who view themselves as a tradionalist, and not a secular progressive individual, do all they can to adhere to this. Batman did all he could for others, and especially for the innocent. He wasn't all about the "Me, Me, Me" mindset.

I think everybody could learn something useful from Batman.

July 22nd, 2008 12:18 am MDT

I don't normally have the time to watch a lot of television, but I was home earlier than expected so I turned on the idiot box and flipped it to the History channel. There was a two hour block about, of all things "historical"...Batman. Now, I liked Michael Keaton as Batman, and Jack Nicholson as the Joker, and I kinda figured this new bunch of actors were gonna bastardize the whole thing, and I had no plans to pay money to go see this new enterprise. But I had nothing else to do right then, so I mixed me a Scotch and sat down. It told all about the creation of the Batman series, and went as far back as the comic book. It told of the psychology behind Bruce Wayne, and what made him turn to crimefighter.

Batman IS a superhero, yet he's not on the same plane as Superman, or any of the other superheros' because Batman is mortal. He uses gadgets to fight the evil in Gotham City, where others have the ability to fly, or run really fast, or have extrodinary strength. What brought about this aversion to evil in Bruce Wayne's mind was when he witnessed, as a child, the murder of his parents after having a panic attack at the theater and asking to leave. So he blamed himself for their deaths, which is understandable for a child to do. He was from a rather well off family, and he devoted his life to fighting the evil-doers under his alter ego, Batman.

This got me to thinking that Bruce Wayne/Batman displays VERY conservative traits. First of all, Batman ALWAYS does the right thing. Even out of his bat costume he does what is right out of his sense of duty to his country, and fellow human beings. Number two: After witnessing the murder of his parents, he didn't see a psyco-therapist/headshrinker to deal with his "deamons". He handled it himself. I like the fact that Bruce Wayne wasn't on a "poor me, I need to express my innermost fears" kick. He stood up, and made a decision to make Gotham a better place for all to live. He took care of his own problems himself without the interference of an intermediary. Thirdly, he doesn't kill the bad guy when he catches him. At least not intentionally. He let's the law take care of who deserves the death penalty, and who gets prison time. A conservative is of exactly the same mindset, when the situation allows for this. Batman doesn't seek to bend the laws of the land to fit his own personal opinion, he works within those laws to achieve justice. And he doesn't waver in his moral standing. Sure, he may make a mistake (after all, he's only human), but he always seeks out the right way.

After watching the entire two hours of Batman stuff, I came to the conclusion that Batman is a Republican. This might piss some of you off, but it's true. Batman is a moral guy. He always trys to do what's right, even in the face of trmendous danger to his own personal safety. He's a tireless worker, and he doesn't make excuses. I'm not saying Batman would vote for John McCain for President, but I know damn well he wouldn't vote for B. Hussain Obama. He'd probably go for the guy running on the Constitutionalis ticket. I need to look into that.

Liberals unite!!! (V) (that's "5" for you non-Super Bowl speakin' folks)

February 8th, 2008 12:42 pm MST

What the hell happened yesterday??? Are you wondering, too? For the uninitiated amongst this little site in the www I'll tell you: The Democratic part assured itself control of the White House until 2012. That ALSO means this great nation will essentially be in dire straights until 2010 when the House and Senate go back to the Republicans. Let's see who's still in the hunt. 1) We have John McCain. He's far from a conservative, and a republican in title only. This guy has told more half-truths, and outright lies than anyone in recent memory. Oh wait! Hold that thought because I just got ahead of myself! There's still Slick Willie at the top of that list. THAT guy would tell you the sun was shining at midnight, and HE'D believe it. But in his defense he didn't have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky. Maybe his wife did? She looks a little dykey, if you ask me. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but she does come off as a bit more masculine than Bill. And she's our #2 candidate still in the race for the least contested Presidency in history. At least when she says she'll continue the fight in Iraq you tend to believe her. But I say "don't bet the farm on ANYthing she promises you". She has the uncanny gall to look right at the camera, and lie without remorse. Mich like her husband. She even expects the American people to believe her when she says she had absolutely no idea that Bill was fooling around on her. As Dennis Miller pointed out: "If she failed to see THAT big, pink elephant in the corner of the room, I don't think she's smart enough to be my President". Oh, and she's been awful buddy-buddy with McCain over the last few years, so what's that tell you about either one of those two? That leaves us with #3, and he's a frickin' MUSLIM! And don't tell me that whiney bullshit about Saddam-Barrack-Hussien-Bin laden-Obama- whatever-the-fuck his name is being a Christian. He's about as much a Christian as I am a liberal, and you limp wristed lefties oughta have enough sense to figure that one out without being told 27 times. I mean, just look at his so called "spiritual guide", for Christ's sake. THAT "preacher" is the exact same thing as a terrorist in that he hates everyone who isn't black. Sure, he's been toning it down for the sake of his desciple while he's running for president, but c'mon people! Even if he IS an American citizen, he still worships Allah. Shit, sorry about getting on that rant, but I had to get some of it out. Mitt Romney was the last best hope for a truely conservative President who actually gives two shits about America. I hate it when ANY of these three candidates claim to show how much they respect, or believe in, or adhere to anything remotely Reaganesque in structure. And they've ALL 3 done that at one point or another to some degree. When I hear one of them say "Let's take America back!", I think: "Back to what? Extraordinary inflation? Minimum wage jobs? Increased taxes for all? Just what are you wanting to go back to? I dunno...it's just all screwed up now. I do have an apology to make to a fellow conservative on this site. I got sorta preachy (and I sounded like a lib) when I told her we have to vote for whoever the Republican candidte is so we wouldn't be stuck with Hillary. So, I'm sorry Nicole. I think I might have been wrong on that point. It really makes no difference who gets elected at this point, because they'll all pretty much give us the same results. Except for the Muslim bastard, who says he'll pull ALL our troops out of the middle east in 60 days. Yeah, like THAT'S the smart thing to do! This is almost prophetic in nature, because the Muslim extremists have said they will destroy America from the inside, and what better way to get that started than by electing one of thier own to the highest office in the land? Just because Obama isn't in flight school as we speak is just a fuckin' technicality. He's a MUSLIM. Oh, I forgot about Huckabee. I say fuck Huck. He isn't really worth the time it takes to type his name. So that leaves me in the rare posistion of being an "undecide voter". Maybe if everybody in the USA wrote Daffy Duck in for President, we'd be better off.

http://anncoulter.com Read it. Learn it. Memorize the archives. In between the caustic (and very witty) remarks the truths are evident. If you honestly consider yourself an open-minded individual then prove what she has to say as true/untrue with research, not closed minded, preconceived notions brought about by drinking your kool-aid, and following the secular progressive herd. Think for yourself. Here's a good place to start.

Liberals unite!!! (III)

November 17th, 2007 6:10 am MST

This'll be a short entry. There's apparently a new movie out called "Redacted" (I THINK that's the name) directed by Brian DePalma, and bankrolled by Mark Cuban, who's the owner of the Dallas Mavericks pro basketball team. Anyhow, to my understanding the main focus of this movie is to show how cruel the American military is to Iraqi civilians. Weak individuals put this so called artistic work into production. They're anti-American, and void of moral attributes. Of course I could be jumping the gun since I haven't actually watched this movie, nor do I plan to. Anybody seen it?

Liberals unite!!! (II)

August 22nd, 2007 9:27 pm MDT

I don't know if this really applies to the "Conservative vs. Liberal" column, since there were actually players from both sides of the fence pushing for this bill while each side had close knit coleagues against it, also. I do know, however, there's AT LEAST one individual who's a member here who was all for it. The issue I'm talking about is the amnesty act for all the illegals already here from Mexico. Obviously, I'm against this. President Bush was for it, and that's one of the few bad things I have to say about him. But Sen. Teddy (let her drown) Kennedy was also for it, so I don't want to hear shit from you goofs who voted for him! (Fuck, I know I will. Bring it on) Anyhow, I received a letter in the regular mail about 3 months ago addressing the pitfalls of this issue from an actual teacher in the San Diego area who was adamently opposed to legalizing these river swimmers. I wanted to use what was in that letter to defend my arguement, but I've lost it somewhere, and I can't find it, so I'll go from memory. And I got a pretty sharp recall when it comes to shit like this! First of all, it's been said in responce to my previous post that illegal Mexicans do the farm work that no American citizen will, and for less than minimum wage. I called bullshit (and I'm right. The person who wrote that is an idiot, too). For one thing the spics working for supposed "below minimum wage nasty-ass jobs" aren't exactly working for minimum wage. Illegals ALSO qualify for welfare, subsidized (free) medical care, free tuition for thier kids in American schools (true, they are public schools), and 2 FREE meals a day for their children at the cost of American tax dollars. The parents working these farm labor jobs make so little they not only DON'T have to pay taxes on their earnings, but more often than not get a REFUND on wages they never ever earned! These kids also get a tax dollar paid bi-lingual teacher. Most of these kids (and it's not necessarily their fault) are so far behind the rest of their class that they get the equivalent of 3rd grade work for a high school credit. They often wind up graduating at the top of the class, getting enough scholarship money to ALSO receive a free college education! All in all, these "under minimum wage jobs" work out to between $20-$30/hour. Doesn't ANYbody here EVER see a Mexican kid driving around in a brand new car??? Ever wonder how that's possible when you work your ass off for what you have, and still run around in a 1980"s modle rig? There's a bunch more shit I can write about here, but I'm afraid I'll go over my 2,000 characters before I'm done. I'll see how this goes over. I know my spelling's probably off in a few spots, figure it out.

Liberals unite!!!

June 19th, 2007 12:09 am MDT

I hope that title grabbed somebody's attention. I could have used a line from Karl Marx's manifesto and it woulda held the same meaning. Jeez, I tried writing this the other day, but I was only allowed 2000 characters (and I didn't know that until I tried to post it!). As things sit now, I'd have to write 6 pieces of this little diatribe if I want to get across what I wanna TRY to get across. Hell, I don't even know if what I plan on writting here will be understood by anybody who bothers to read this in the first place. But I'm a bit miffed, so here goes.

One part of my "irritable disposistion" has to do with the hipocracy of the liberal left. My free time has sort of become abundant these last few months (ex-military, now I contract out to the govt. in certain situations. Not my origional plan, but shit happens ya know?), so I'm sitting in front of this computer, having a highball (no pun intended). This hipocracy I speak of has to do with what folks write in thier profiles. I've read no less than 3 who hate conservatives. One was from a really young gal from Michigan, or Ohio, or somewhere in the mid-west, who simply had disdane for anyone of the Republican persuasion. As anyone who's taken the time to peruse my profile will obviously know: I'm a Republican. She had no basis other than the fact one may support the Republican party. I guess she can be forgiven since she's so young, and obviously inexperienced in life. But that ain't all! I found another one who talked about "The 5 biggest lies told to America", or some such bullshit, and they ALL had to do with President Bush's handeling of the Iraq War (but she's from California. Go figure). Admittedly, the war hasn't been handled in a pristine manner, but at least the present administration has done something about the mid-east situation. It should have been dealt with in the previous administration instead of bombing an aspirin factory during the "Monica-Gate" hearings! Excuse me while I freshen my Scotch.

O.K. Thanks for hanging around, now where was I? Oh yeah. The last one I read was from fuckin' OREGON! My home state, and in the lone Conservative stronghold in the Willamette Vally: Corvallis! She hates anybody who likes Pres. Bush, is a Republican in general, is narrow minded, or "lacks intellectual curiosity". And something else, but who can follow such drivel? Anyhow, I thought the libs were supposed to be more tollerant, and nderstanding than the Republican Right? Appearantly that just ain't so.

I think I'm about out of space, but I guareente I'll post another. If anybody actually read this all the way through and wants to comment, yer more than welcome. Just don't send something off the wall stupid, or I'll tell you to fuc off. If I bother with it at all.
