Liberty Conference

May 25th, 2009 7:37 am MDT

In April, I went to the Liberty Conference, which was held in Philadelphia. (www.transevents.org) This was a three-day transgender conference with seminars, guest speakers, banquets and evening entertainment.  I arrived at the hotel on Thursday afternoon with 4 dresses, 4 skirt and top sets, two pairs of pants and 4 pairs of heels – for three days.  I unpacked and got ready.  The first event was a dinner cruise on the Delaware River aboard the Spirit of Philadelphia.  I wore a classy black and white satin dress.  I gathered with the rest of the 50 girls in the hotel lobby and we bused to the port in Philadelphia.  Everyone looked fabulous as we boarded the ship. They took pictures of us as we boarded (of course charging us for them during the cruise.).  We had a great buffet dinner, dancing and drinking.  It was a tad chilly out on the deck, so we mostly stayed in the main room and danced up a storm.  The ship wasn’t full, but there were other passengers there and we didn’t have any issues with them. We all danced up a storm during the cruise. It was great fun and so liberating to be able to just get up and dance.

On the deck of the Spirit of Philadelphia by you.
