One Year Anniversary
January 30th, 2008 10:10 am MST
Well girls its been a year....and what a year its been.
Last year I peeked out of the closet and opened a subcription to URNA, something I just had to do. So what has a year brought me? Some really neat friends, the ability to walk comfortably in four inch heels, I am afraid of nothing, and I am recognized in my circle of friends (non-trans) as beind someone you can come to with any kind of makeup or fashion issue. I did my 6th makeover for a GG, still not asking for money but she did take me out for lunch. I am actually giving away clothes instead of hoarding them. I discovered I had TWO identical leopard print blouses...imagine! I keep all the clothes I wont ever wear outside in boxes and they have expiration dates. Progress! I am becoming sensible...tee hee! I am still in Gender confusion, living in the midwest and being the only tranny in town, sometimes is a definate challenge! I now know most of the gender advocates in my district and will continue to help to promote the rights of good citizens of questionable gender! I dont have to be called Ma'm all the time, it's OK, some people need glasses. I still have a rough voice that I am working on and can generally sound fem if I remeber to turn it on. I still get the second looks, but I dont get the shock reaction much anymore. I am working hard at blending in and it pays off, until I decide to dress Manhatten Chic, then I get the hairy eyeballs. I read to many fashion mags and sometimes go overboard, but a girl has to either lead or follow in fashion!
To all the many girls that have helped this year! WAY to many to mention here!
THANK YOU!
I love you all!

Melissa,
You're a true pioneer. If many girls have helped you this year, you are helping WAY more who will come after you. These girls following in your footsteps will find the locals accepting and welcoming. "Oh sweetie, of course, come in, sit anywhere...you know, we had one like you a while back...gosh durn but that girl brought style to this town...mm, and she cooked a mean possum stew..."
Luvs and hugs!
