A Quick and Simple "No Thanks"

We all get them...the Friends List request.  Personally I get about a dozen a day.  I would have filled my limit many times over by now.  It can be flattering, or annoying…depending on who is asking.

Or, how about the uninvited instant message from a stranger.  There are three endings here; 1. The person has the preverbal faceless, empty profile; 2. There is a profile, but no thanks; or 3. Full profile and you take the chance.  In this case, two outta three ain’t good.

Well, I have come up with a simple way to say “no”, politely (I think), with explanation, in a detailed, concise, easy-to-replicate manner.

When I get an invitation, request, or IM, from someone I don’t already know, the first thing I do is check out the sender’s profile.  If it is blank, has no picture, or contains information that is just of no interest to me, I reply with a simple link:  http://kristydantes.com/readme.
